    Finally, Solid Overwatch Security
One fantastic floodlight/camera combo that does not disappoint. Purchased this at the end of December 2022 and could not wait to install it immediately. I personally own the “ieGeek Security Cameras Wireless Outdoor, Solar Security Camera System 360° PTZ” (installed in July 2022), actually two of them and they are absolutely incredible. So, when one of my traditional outdoor motion/floodlight went south, decided to invest into the IeGeek Floodlight/Motion/Camera combo. Unlike the Security Camera version purchased previously, you are not able to rotate camera and must remain in a fixed position. However, all other features and functions are identical, including the setup. Below are the my highlights of this item and my test results.
Camera and Flood Light Enclosure:- Super fast installation and very simple steps. “Cannot go wrong”- The floodlight and camera are well protected and comes with a seal. No caulking needed.- All features including the lights are adjustable and can be locked into position.Setup and Configuration:- Setup similar to existing IeGeek hardware and completed within 5 min.- 2.4GHZ range is very strong and antennae placement and adjustment is more than adequate.- The features are vast and again aligned to previous hardware.- Everything is customizable, to include the strength of the flood light itself.- Built in 2 way speaker works very well and the Day/Night vision on par with high end sets.Test Results:- Camera motion detection range 40+ft ; Seems to max out due to the height I have it on my house.- Flodlight motion is oddly a little less than camera detection range but, manageable in my location.- Video and Picture quality is perfect and believe it or not better than 3MP claim.- Adjustable sensitivity settings and even the floodlight brightness. Great if you want to keep neighbors happy.Overall great camera and quality. Very pleased.Takeaways…I give this setup an overall 5 stars and it performs to this level. The motion detection range and sensitivity is maxed in my location but, I would imagine in many other applications and heights the range would be more than adequate. Even pushing this system to the range limitation, there is no disappointment in its flexibility and quality. This floodlight/camera combination needs to be your next replacement. Check out my pics to include the night vision sets.

Worked great right out of the box
We had tried a couple of doorbell cameras (different brands – both well known), but had issues/problems with setup and functionality on both and had to return. So we decided to instead replace our old front door/patio motion light with one that also had a camera. Based on previous experience I was expecting more problems with installation and functionality. Wrong! The ieGeek floodlight camera was very easy to install, easy to set up on my phone, and worked great right away. The picture quality is very good. We especially like how adjustable the camera and lights are, which allows us get just the right angle for camera coverage, and also light up our front door/patio area without accidentally lighting up our neighbors yard too. The light is very bright, but can be adjusted dimmer to suit your needs. We also like that we can easily turn on the motion detector and alerts only when needed – at night and when we’re away. I have waited until 10 days after installing before writing a review – just in case, but so far it’s working great. I would recommend this outdoor security unit to anyone in the market.

    Very Good Camera and Floodlight
This camera/floodlight combination is great if you have a light fixture installed and want to add a camera at the same location. Using one fixture attached to an electrical box you get both the floodlight (which you can turn on as needed from the app) and a security camera with motion detection alerts, two-way audio, siren, etc. At night, it can take black and white videos using its infrared light or full color videos, turning the floodlight on when motion is detected (or if you set the floodlight to be on during a particular period of the day/night – see pictures). This is not a high-end camera: the resolution is only 2K (which is quite sufficient for basic security purposes), no PTZ, no human detection (the ability to send alerts only when the camera detects a human moving), but for specific needs, this camera is a very good solution. The product was packaged very well – no chance of getting a damaged camera – and the installation was very easy (you do need to have at least the electrical skills that suffice to install a light fixture in an existing electrical box).

I have found this to be an excellent Camera right from taking it out of the box. It is robust, well designed and works flawlessly. I found initial installation and setup to be uncomplicated and relatively straight forward. I was up and running within a few minutes of downloading the App.I have chosen to use ieGeeks’ own App for the remote management of the Camera, which has proven quick and responsive. A good internet connection really helps with the remote viewing of the camera. I have accessed the camera via the app with a 4G connection with no issues. The bonus with ieGeeks’ range of Cameras is that you do not need to commit to a monthly subscription. This is why I initially chose their products. Simply buy a cheap SD card and slot it in. From there it is simple to configure the camera to record continuously, or just events as they happen. The App will notify you when events occur (which you can customize or turn off) if there is someone working/playing in from of the camera. Simply click on the notification and you can see what is happening live, or what happened when triggered. There is also an option built into the ieGeek App to have a small amount of free cloud storage. A premium plan for enhanced cloud storage is available for a small fee each month. The area to be monitored by the motion detection of the camera is customizable, so nuisance alarms can be diagnosed by watching back the recorded event and then altering the motion detection area accordingly. Also the general sensitivity of the motion detection system can be scaled depending on the installation environment.Two-way communications between the camera and the App is also possible, so it is possible to speak to people in real-time to determine what they are doing! The camera/app combination give the option to capture screenshots and record live video, etc, directly to the App.The Flood light has also come in handy for working outside in the dark. The floodlight brightness is adjustable and it can be overridden in the app so that if you are in one place continually you do not have to re-trigger the motion detection to make the floodlight come on again.All-in-all this is a great little camera to have, that checks a lot of boxes for me. I have found the ieGeek Customer Support responsive and quite useful in the past.I highly recommend this Camera.

I am happy with these cameras. The video quality is good, they were affordable for me, and connecting to wifi rather than being hardwired is great for renters! It takes a long time to figure out what detection setting to use and I do often changed throughout the week. Some days I want all movement monitored, other times just ‘humanoid’ detection is enough.Sometimes the trees, or weeds, blowing the wind is enough to set of the motion detection. Which drains the battery rapidly if it is set off every few minutes on a windy day!Sometimes the cameras also activate after the motion happens, such as after a car has driven past, or after we walk by them. However, any detection I would 100% want detected is. Such as a person at the door, or a vehicle in the driveway. They aren’t perfect but I love the security of having them, strange noises don’t phase me at night because I can check the cameras now!

I returned the first of these I ordered seeing one of the lights had been put on upside down. Seeing exactly the same thing on the second I was about to do the same, thinking that poor quality control was the reason for the significant discount over the normal selling price. Happily I discovered that one can rotate each light, so the protective cowl is at the top..doh!Installation was straightforward with the screw holes in almost exactly the same position as my previous light (this light has then 7.5cm apart v 8cm for my old one) so I could use one existing hole and keeping the old rawl plug in place squeeze a screw in just next to the other. To get it to connect to my Virgin hub I needed to disable 5Ghz by logging into the router (192.168.0.1). After that, following the supplied instructions worked fine (beforehand, the camera configuration just timed out after a couple of minutes). The camera is maybe 25 feet away from my router with an internal and external wall in the way but though the installation said the signal was too weak (around 35%) it installed and worked ok. Only issue is that if I turn 5Ghz back on I can’t connect to the camera. Still, 2.4Ghz gives with 50Mbps download so not a big issue for now.Everything on the camera works fine and as expected from the blurb with a nice clear picture (HD is enough for me though higher is available). Motion detection works well and even when set to high alerts are triggered just with human rather than fox or other (wind blowing parasol, branches, etc.) movement up to 20 feet away. The light (set on detection sensitivity of 8/10) does trigger (looks like this does not use the same AI as the video recording motion detection) with nearby fox activity but that has been rare so far with just one ‘false’ light in the night, unlike my previous PIR halogen light which triggered frequently even with the wind blowing the garden table parasol.Negatives are fairly minor so far and not an issue for me given the price I paid (£65). I can’t see how to change the light brightness in the app, the light is cooler (less natural and more like a fluorescent tube) than my old 150w halogen and not quite as bright but does cover a wider (and configurable) area and being LED is much cheaper to run. I guess there is no way to change the lights if they fail. There is no cowl over the camera lens so it may need a wipe in time with rain and dust.It hooked up to Alexa surprisingly easily and the good infra red throw means one can see what’s going on without having to get up or turn a light on.It looks like you need the app to turn the light on outside of motion activation (max duration is 60s) or any regular scheduled period (you can set a start and end time) and it would be nice to have a feature to be able to control that from Alexa (all you can do is tell Alexa you want to see the camera).I bought a 128G card so no ongoing storage costs (one camera I had from another manufacturer slyly introduced these over time so you had to pay to be able to see motion-triggered video). Although I set recording to ‘event’ rather than ‘all day’ it does seem to record a lot of footage at night (even though no actual motion alerts trigger), so say 10G a day but it looks easy to format the card if it fills up and is not clever enough to intelligently write over the oldest footage. Also, helpfully, one can see a history of the times of ‘real’ human motion-activated alerts and clicking them takes you to that timestamp so no need to scroll through all the hours of footage it records. So, we’ll have to see how it lasts but overall I am happy so far – if helpful please give this a like!

I was reluctant to purchase this thinking it was going to be tricky to set up and operate. After a textbook install (following the fitting instructions which I found to be decent), the app picked up the camera almost instantly and it was all installed in just under 5 minutes. The app itself is good although has a few design flaws – such as not being able to access feature buttons when in full screen or the ability to drag buttons – but that is all overshadowed by a terrific 2K camera, very bright LED bulbs and a reasonably effective siren to add to the mix. However, that’s not this floodlight camera’s top feature. It’s the access to the SD card without having to pay a cloud subscription. What you can do is not limited in anyway and with a quality 128GB micro SD, multiple users are able to peruse video history at the same time. This is done smoothly, cleanly and without choppiness and any skips. This is actually a surprisingly well-balanced machine for the price. Well done ieGeeks!

Really happy with this camera, connectivity is great, picture quality, sound is fantastic too, motion sensor is accurate, no false triggers. I pay £3 a month or something for storage which is good compared to others. Quality is just fantastic. No lag.
