Perfect solution
This is a fantastic product. We use HomeKit as our main smart home platform and setting these up was a breeze. Just scan the code, plug them in and follow the instructions – you’re done in under a minute. These were our first choice because the four-pack is surprisingly affordable and works brilliantly. We’ve also tried using them with other platforms and they work perfectly with Google Home and the Matter-compatible IKEA Smart Hub.

Works when you read the manual
Works but you need to understand how matter works and read the instructions. It requires a matter compatible hub such as Echo v3 and newer, certain Echo shows, etc. If you don’t have that the device won’t be discovered. Each device has a QR code right on the device and the package also includes the QR code so if you use that you need to match the device number printed on the device to add the correct device. Finally, once you have added it to Alexa as an example, it’s bound to that network and will not be discoverable by Homekit or another matter hub. To add it to different networks you will need to go into the device in Alexa and get a passcode to add to Homekit or another matter hub. If things aren’t working, reset the device and try again. The led on the device shows the current status as detailed in the manual.

Garbage
Total waste of time. Spent 30 minutes messing with it trying both Alexa and matter app. Needs an Alexa hub to work. Kept wanting a QR code to scan as well and there were no set up codes.

Great Apple plug for way less
Apple HomeKit compatible and was very easy to set up in the Apple world. Price was good and it makes cutting my Christmas trees on and off much easier

Just order them
So far so good on these. I use them everywhere for lamps and lights. These have by far been the easiest to set up and use. I have a few different brands, and I’m sure these are the ones I will re-order when I need more. The ease of use with an Alexa device makes them A+. I really like that they are small enough to use 2 in one standard outlet as well.

Works great — but Eero users, avoid this one setup mistake!
I spent hours trying to get this Matter smart plug to connect to my Echo Show 5 (Gen 2), and it kept failing during setup no matter what I tried. The problem wasn’t the plug — it was my Eero 7 guest network. If you’re using an Eero system, do NOT set up this plug on the guest network. Eero’s guest network isolates devices, which completely breaks Matter onboarding. The plug, your phone, and your Alexa device all need to be on the same main 2.4 GHz network, not the guest one. As soon as I connected everything to my main Eero network, the plug paired instantly with Alexa using the Matter code. The plug itself works great once it’s set up, but I wish this guest-network limitation was clearer in the instructions. Hopefully this helps someone else avoid the hours of troubleshooting I went through!

It CAN BE CONNECTED with Alexa! If yours failed, read this
I have two Amazon smart plugs, an old one that was released a few years ago ( in 2019?), and a new one (this one, Matter compatible). Setting up the old one was very easy, but this one is super tricky. It seems that Amazon does not make the old smart plugs any more, but only Matter compatible ones now. Actually I ordered one at the beginning but cannot get it connected with Alexa app after I tried many times, I thought it was defective, so I returned it and requested a replacement. After I got the replacement, the setup still failed again and again even though I really followed the instructions (both coming with the item or Amazon’s online instructions). Then this made me realize that there must be something more than what it says in the stupid official instructions! AI does not help too! So I did a quick research and did find out the issue. Matter is an open-source protocol for IoT and smart home devices, it has been supported by Android and iOS. Alexa app can absolutely discover the Matter smart plug, but you MUST use your smartphone’s setting->matter devices or matter accessories (regardless iOS or Android devices) to connect the MATTER smart plug FIRST, then it can be added by Alexa app. After your smartphone get connected with the plug, it will prompt you need a matter hub, for which you can choose Alexa app/Google Home, then follow the instruction and easily add the plug into your Alexa/GoogleHome device list. Good luck!

Quick setup, good value
Using this with Apple HomeKit. Quick setup, no issues. Like that they came with stickers to show the setup QR code for easy scanning since the codes are usually on the back/plugged in side.Only been using them for about 48 hours but no issues, will report back. Very good value.

Wish I could go lower than one star but I won’t let me. Wont connect to google app unless you have a google home so beware of that. Tried the Alexa app and it wouldn’t connect either. Waste of money and time do not recommend at all

These work very well. I have generally purchased more expensive, smart plugs, and thought I would give the Amazon basics to try to see if they function as well. No problems at all and I will probably continue to pay half price and get the same function with these plugs.
