Great purchase!
Purchased this renewed Roku device. When it arrived and I installed it, the remote didn’t work. I contacted the seller who responded within 10 minutes. They shipped me a new remote which arrived in a few days. It worked perfectly. Good customer service doesn’t necessarily mean there’s never anything wrong. When things go wrong, good customer service means being responsive and fixing the issue quickly. This seller did that.

I went with the refurbished, I have purchased refurbished from Amazon in the past and had a good outcome.Arrived on time (something to note, this is something that has not been happening as of late), easy setup, and so far I have not had any issues.We have a TV that is an older flat screen and does not have wifi capabilities but is a good TV and we do not want to replace until we have to. So to move the game out of the living room and make a gaming room, we decided on the roku. I am not up to date tech person, but I did not want cable either. We have streaming services and that is what we wanted without buying a new TV. We knew a remote wouldn’t control our volume, older TV, but yeah. So far it hooked up easily and has worked perfectly for what we wanted, simply to stream Hulu, Netflix, Prime, etc…I like that it is simple, I do not need a million instructions just to watch TV lol, after working all day, most can relate, you want to sit there and unwind, or just a lazy Saturday, you do not want to have to “figure out” how to watch TV.And now I have my living room back. 🙂

Turned out great
So we purchased a Roku, and at first it gave us a problem. Realizing that the problem was the remote I placed a corner piece of a magazine cover, which is a little thicker than a sheet of paper. I fold it into a little square and placed it in the battery area of the remote, then closed it whala! It works every time because it was happening before is we would have to move the batteries around and at first we thought that was the issue because we change the batteries from the ones that came in the package. I was ready to return it. I was so upset about it but then I figured it out and that was it so maybe the manufacture has to place a small piece of foam like and some other remotes and that would be the fix. So with so many movies, add free TV, everything streaming and the apps that we wanted on our old TV, this works perfect. I paid so much money for the first 70 inch smart TV that it was no longer smart it’s been about six years if not more and we love the TV we just needed it to be smarter so this little system the Roku is fabulous. I highly recommend it and again you’re probably have to put a corner fold into a square place in the back of the remote put the cap on over the batteries and you’re good , don’t have to replace the TV. Don’t have to spend the money on a new smart TV just get this little system thank you Roku! Thank you, Amazon!

The remote, volume , are not on this model of deviceIt overheated and froze a couple of times(which might have been why it was refurbished) get they didn’t check.

Yes, it was easy to install. Yes, it’s easy to use. I fail to see what the thickness of this item has anything at all to do with it’s performance or functionality. My guess is it’s as thick as it needs to be.There are numerous streaming devices on the market but Roku happens to be my personal favorite. This is a great alternative to cable.You must have internet and WiFi in order for this to work. There are lots of free channels and then there are the premium channels that you have to pay for. It’s still cheaper than cable.This unit is very small and only a fraction of the size of the older Roku units. Don’t let the size fool you. This little gadget does everything the bigger boxes do and it does it just as well. If you’re ready to cut the cable ir just want to expand your number of channels, I think you will be very pleased with Roku.

Roku delivers abundant free entertainment options. The Roku Express is a great beginner box. Easy to use and fairly easy to set up. You can cut the cord with free Pluto TV, and Locast for local stations. There are on demand like channels that are free with rotating libraries of movies and shows. Filmrise, Crackle, Roku Channel, tubi tv, and search for hundreds of specialty channels.Philo TV has 60 cable channels for $20 per month without sports. It’s going to save my household thousands of dollars a year on the content we like. depending on your location Century link has an unlimited bandwidth plan with their gigabit internet. The data cap can be an issue with lots of streaming. So I set up antenna for local channels, those are the most watched stations. So they can get 30+ channels over the air and when it’s not enough the family can roku their way to more options.
