Great Ring 4K Floodlight Camera
This was the easiest Ring camera to get set up ever, once installed. And yes, the installation was straightforward. The picture quality is outstanding. Overall, a great product.

The Ring Floodlight Cam pro 4K Review: Bold Lights, but with only Slightly improved Clarity
Let me start by saying—if you already own the first-generation model, I wouldn’t recommend upgrading. The jump from 2K to 4K sounds impressive on paper, but in real use, the difference is minimal. I tested this by zooming in on license plates, and they were just as hard to read as they were with the original Ring Pro camera. The picture quality seems at times pixelated and more blurry than the first generation. The motion detection on this one doesn’t capture motion as good as the first generation. These things are very disappointing as many of us here upgraded and feel let down. Hopefully this will improve with a software update. The colors also look more muted compared to the first generation!That said, if you don’t already have the previous version, this is still a solid buy. I replaced two first-generation Ring Floodlight Pros with this new 4K version, and both performed exactly the same—so it’s not a case of a defective unit. Features Seem Great—Updated Review Tomorrow
So far I have great hopes for this camera. It arrives tomorrow and I’ll be getting it set up right away. I’ve already used some of the features of this model from other recent ring purchases:Integration with chime is very helpful and handy. Integrating with 3D motion to see where a person is when correlated with properly set up footage, higher quality audio capture with Audio+, and detailed security alerts every time someone is in my detection zone. I even like that I get alerts based on whether it’s a car, person, or other motion and can curtail notifications.This seems to be the same light brightness as my other recent ring purchase and I find the light to illuminate the area very well and at the times I need. I’ve also found video quality to be stellar, but I’ll see if the 10X soon and face/license plate functionality lives up to the hype.I’ll be replacing a typical outdoor light with this one, and plan to bypass a light switch for the work as a DIY myself.
