Works well and very easy to install
Very easy to install. With solar panel, no need for wiring, so can place anywhere needed. The camera works well and gets 180 deg picture. I put mine up on one side of my garage and can see the full drive way (all the way to the road) and the side of my yard very clearly. I can see cars/people coming on the road towards my house.I have another Reolink camera that is above my back door over my deck and back yard (solar panel also). Works great! With the app you can watch video from the camera on your phone or iPad. It will also store videos if cars/people/animals are in your view. You can set it up however you want, can determine what time frames you want recorded, etc.Highly recommend it!

Unbelievable color night vision.
Unbelievable night vision. It looks like daytime. This is our 3rd Reolink camera and once again, it’s amazing very easy to setup and great technology. Our other two cameras have been running for 2 years non stop. Zero issues.Picture attached was virtually pitch black and you could swear it was day time.

Not For Me
I just did not like the interface program nor the behavior of this battery camera. Made it through setup, picture quality was fair but that all depends on your WiFi. It shuts off often which annoyed me the same way that cell phones seem to be on when you don’t want them to be on but then off while you want them to be on.It came packaged well, couple glitches running setup but nah overall for me.Bought 2, decided to return them.Still not for me but the customer service made me bump this up 1 star. They have been very engaged. I was given a full refund and offered a discount on future purchase, zero hassle. My main review remains unaltered, I don’t like battery cameras or how they work. But Reo is one of few cams that give you a subscription free operation (closest to a basic IP cam you can get nowadays). Like many people I just want a subscription free IP camera. If I want to use it over my internet connection I rather set that up myself. But for the less tech savvy they seem to offer an honest DNS control point so you can use them to connect while you are away.Reo-Link please continue to stick with the basics. A solid camera, a good app, no internet.I will likely buy from Reo Link again… they seem to be doing the right things. I just want an simple IP camera and a decent app to view it without any strings. But bravo to how they are fighting the good fight.

Does not charge in cold weather
I’ve installed this outside at my house. It is good device with clear picture and an intuitive mobile app. Battery seems to last plenty long enough to to sustain even on cloudy days.I have concerns about the solar panel since it feels like the face is made out of plastic or silicone instead of glass. I hope it lasts more than one season.—— Update after 1 monthInitially this was working fine but now has not worked for more thank a week. Since the temp has dropped to freezing it seems the camera no longer charges from the solar panel. I would not recommend for climates that get cold and snowy.

Ultra wide and no subscription
This is a great camera with high quality imagery and ultra wide view. It’s super simple to set up with simply scanning a code on the side. You’re up within just a minute or so. The included solar panel is awesome so you never have to worry about power as long as you’re installing it to face the sun. It’s an extremely wide view though, so you have to really look at your case to see if it’s the right fit. For us, we have two of these. One is to look at our whole yard when we want to watch our animals outside. It’s great to get that whole view. However, for the front of the house it’s almost too wide for just looking at the house. We get a lot of the neighbors fence and the other neighbor as well. It’s probably overkill for something that really just needs to see a square shaped area. The app seems very secure with the option to share the camera with authorized viewers. We are transitioning away from Arlo which over the years got worse quality products and increasing subscription fees. This is great because there are no subscription fees and you can still get motion detection alerts for various things including animals, and set the size of the activity and zone you’re interested in.

Wide field of view with excellent quality, speed, and rich features.
EXCELLENT Camera. I loved the 180-degree field of view as well as how easy it was to set up. The price is excellent. I love that it’s locally stored, and you don’t have to create an account to get started. The motion detection was excellent on the camera. I would have preferred more subtle (black on black for example).

Super easy to install. The temperature has dropped to -20 degrees outside so I bought a 5m cable and they work perfectly. Also love that the camera doesn’t require subscription.

Easy set up with a great picture guality at a great price.

One fact that I had not noticed is that the camera will not charge below 0 celcius. We average -20 celcius here so I cannot use the camera until spring time.

The solar panel doesn’t sustain in the winter

I have quite a few Reolink cameras set up, and several Argus cameras going back to the Argus 2. I also have another Argus 4 Pro+, which I’ve been running now for over a year.In many ways, the Argus 4 Pro+ is significantly better than previous generations; and not just by a little!First, I should point out that there are very few things I don’t like about this camera, so I’ll start with those. The elephant in the room: the battery is not replaceable. This is a shame, and something that Reolink changed in the last model, too. Older models had removable batteries, which could be replaced when the included battery inevitably goes bad. In fact, that was one reason why I was able to save a “dead” Argus 2, the battery simply needed to be swapped. Not having that ability with the Argus 4 Pro gives this a 2-4 year lifespan if you keep it outdoors all year.Reolink still hasn’t allowed notifications to show a preview thumbnail, like I get with pretty much every other security camera I own; even our bird feeder camera gives you a thumbnail. While this may seem like a minor gripe, it significantly diminishes the usefulness of getting push notifications. You are always inconvenienced by having to open the app and waiting for it to load before knowing what triggered the motion sensor.Reolink could easily fix this, and I’m not sure why they haven’t.My second complaint, is that this camera does not get as much height captured in the frame compared to previous Argus cameras.I installed this one at the side of my home, which actually replaces the need for two older Argus cameras I had covering the same area. This camera gets “wall to wall” coverage, which is amazing. But, you lose some vertical field-of-view.Depending on where you set this camera up, the loss of horizontal video may not be a problem. With the Argus 4 Pro+ I have set up in front of my house, I did have to make a concession, and lose some capture below the camera in order to get more of the road.Apart from those two negatives, nearly everything else on this camera has been improved.Setting it up was very quick, mostly because I already had experience with using the Reolink app. Set up the camera BEFORE installing it, since you’ll need to scan the QR code on the back of the unit.I have both my Argus 4 Pro+ cameras set up to use the Reolink Hub, which was super easy.Connecting to Wifi 5ghz band, which uses WiFi 6 is something I’d suggest for a camera with much resolution. I’ve got no issues streaming in full quality! The included solar panel is the second generation from Reolink, and it’s twice as powerful as the previous. It’s also larger as a result, but not hugely so. My other Reolink panels have survived without any issues for at least the last two years, 365 days a year, but be warned that these battery-powered, solar-charging cameras don’t really charge over the winter, so be prepared to tweak your settings to be less sensitive. To that effect, the settings offered for motion sensitivity are impressive! You have a general level of sensitivity, as well as an option to prevent false alarms (good if you have leaves or bushes flowing in the wind within view). But in addition, you can control sensitivity for vehicles, people, animals, and other (separately) based on size (min and max); you can also set up zones where it will not detect motion. The ColorX night vision is highly impressive, and it beats black and white night vision any day of the week! It easily allows me to identify specific colours of vehicles long after sundown. One thing to note, however, is that the resolution isn’t as clear when using night vision. Still usable, but don’t expect the same quality as you would during the day. What impresses me most about the Argus 4 Pro+ is the vastly improved detection. As an example, previous Argus cameras would capture delivery people as they were walking away from my home. And they were never sensitive enough to capture a car passing by the house, and certainly never people walking across the street. But the Argus 4 Pro+ not only captures objects at a distance, but it does so much faster than before. I can actually capture people as they approach my home, rather than long after they have left the frame. When compared to a wired Reolink camera, however, it’s still not perfect. Wired cameras have the luxury to capture several seconds BEFORE a motion, so you can see what lead up to the motion being detected. This is pretty important, and while the Argus 4 Pro+ doesn’t give you that ability, it’s the best in class as far as battery powered cameras go.If you do need a battery-operated camera that can record video before the moment that movement was detected, Reolink’s Altas can do it.The 4k resolution is good, but keep in mind that you’re spreading that resolution across a very wide angle. Yes, it’s better than the 1080p I get from a single camera, but it doesn’t resolve as much detail as a single camera in 4k, especially since it’s got such a wide angle. For most purposes, I don’t think this is an issue. The camera’s quality and performance and stellar. The included time-lapse feature is something I’ve used in previous models, and will continue to use it with the Argus 4 Pro+. It’s cool to see a time-lapse of an incoming storm, for example.Lastly, unlike with other dual lens cameras I’ve used, the Argus 4 Pro+ is quite small. It doesn’t scream “I’M A CAMERA!”, which I like.Overall, the improvements to the detection range and accuracy, as well as the high-quality wide angle and incredible night vision makes the Argus 4 Pro one of my favourite Reolink cameras to date.If they could just add thumbnails to push notifications, it would be hard to beat!
