Great LTE Camera for remote locations
Setup was super easy! Great quality! Just got it, but so far it’s fantastic and I’d highly recommend.Mostly wanted to review based on several folks saying it’s disconnected even with the camera right in front of it; Once the SIM/LTE data plan runs empty, it disconnects. You have to refill the data plan and I had to reboot it to reconnect it (it says if you wait a few minutes it’ll auto-reconnect, but I just rebooted it) – so please check the data plan if the camera is showing disconnected. It will take me some time to figure out how much data I will use in a month, I was playing it a lot during setup and burned through the free 100 mb and had to get the 1 GB plan- which was pretty cheap, like $9 a month or something.I have had no issues with connectivity once figuring that part out.

Won’t connect to the app or work- server error installing SIM card.
Junk. Had 2 other reolink 4g cameras. They only last about 18 months. This one looks great, high quality but doesn’t work. The app won’t connect to it and add it. The Sim card that comes with just gives you server error on the screen. Waste of my time and 200 mile round trip to install it. Don’t waste your money.

ADD IN 11/11: There’s a model that adds the initial 10s into the motion activated recording. Get that one. There’s a reason they did that. I don’t know if it’s 4G lag or what but it’s a critical big fix*.Tried another brand first. Worthless tracking, sketchy movement when it decided to play ball. Would often check in and find it staring straight down at the dirt. This Camera brought me back from that yuck let down all the way up, no $¡+, to beyond redemption. This little Sputnik is on it with two independently operating lenses. One wide angle that captures the whole apartment parking lot, catches and tracks motion the moment somebody steps into that broad AO and the second lens zooms in automatically and tightens to a highly readable/usable image. It’ll adjust zoom accordingly to target size. Maximizing zoom wether it’s one person or 4. The tracking is active, smooth, and agile. If a passerby happens to see the camera, they will see it looking right back at them and traversing to follow them. It’s actually pretty sick. You know, it’s great that it can give a strong show of deterrence cuz it creates an awareness of the area. At night, when it detects someone, it throws on that spotlight and tracks them with it until they’re out of the area. It’s one solid blow to the “broken window theory” paradigm. In time, I have no doubt this little bot will reduce undesirable activity in and around the area.*It has.

Best Cameras and customer service ever
Love REOLINK cameras!! Customer service is outstanding! I purchased the wrong type at first. Company sent me the one I needed and credited me for the balance that exceeded the new purchase. I had to send the new camera they sent me back because it wasn’t working right and they sent me a new one which arrived very quickly. I can’t say enough about how great the customer service is. But aside from that. The cameras are the best. We have used other brands and none work as well as this brand.

A new design with all the high end features one would need. This 4k solar camera with 180 degree field of view, 6 ghz wifi and colour night vision sounds like a banger. But It might be wise to think about use cases and placement. Before purchasing this unit. Beyond this point faces and other aspects such as cloth and ( accessories )become dim.3 The coloured night vision exhibits a slight green cast ( reminding me of classic NVG goggles ). Yet still offers high precision colours.3 Detection zone failures. Sometimes the camera won’t detect a person or object if it is less then 35% in the frame ( example a head and upper torso ) might not trigger the cams auto detect. This has happened on some occasions when testing this. Works 95% of the timeFinal thought; 5 out of 5With this units overall high cost of entry. This might be for some, a higher price to pay. For an innovative design that somewhat fails to hit the mark 100% of the time. If you own the bay station and other cameras from this company then it will be a great addition to your security setup. But you must always keep in mind, that with new tech their might be some bugs that need ironing out. So always update you’re firmware and keep you’re troubleshooting guide handy and you will be fine.

I will update if I receive it, but right now it say delivery is for Jan 6 2026 ! The order was placed on March 12 2025. So not the best experience so far from ReolinkDirect !

I’ve only had this 4G LTE Reolink camera for a few days for my cottage where Wi-Fi is not accessible, and it’s already proven useful. Its dual-lens setup caught my attention when my teenager accidentally left the gate open after entry, I got an alert and could call him back before anything happened. The color night vision is impressive; last night, I checked the app and could clearly see a delivery person dropping off a package, even in near-total darkness. The solar panel is a nice touch, too, since I don’t have to worry about charging it constantly. One thing I’d like to see improved is the app’s responsiveness – it sometimes takes a few seconds to load the live feed. For anyone with a busy household like ours, this camera offers peace of mind without needing Wi-Fi, which is great for our spotty rural connection.
