I ordered this ice pack head wrap in anticipation of my daughter’s wisdom teeth removal. I happened to have the opportunity to use it first due to a sore tooth. I can’t call the dentist until Monday and wanted to put some ice on it. This definitely works better than a bag of frozen peas. The material of the head wrap is very soft and quite cool even at room temp. It has a slight smell to it that I associate with ‘new’ if that makes sense. It is not offensive and it seemed to dissipate quickly. I was able to put the product on easily and it fit comfortably. I have a bit of a double chin and I was worried it would feel tight, but it did not. There is a stretch elastic band that helps customize the fit automatically and there is a Velcro strap in the back to further adjust the fit. The directions say it takes about 2 hours to completely freeze but I found it got cold enough for me in about an hour. There is also a little plastic bag to put the head wrap inside when you put it in the freezer/refrigerator. It is to keep it protected from any smells attaching to the fabric. That’s a nice touch! This is a great product and I think it’s worth the cost.

Excellent Relief for TMJ Pain and Jaw Discomfort
This Hilph ice pack head wrap has been a huge help for managing my TMJ pain. The design is smart and effective, providing even, consistent cooling that lasts much longer than regular gel packs. Will freeze your ears off
Great for any kind of face pain, not just dentalTakes about an hour to get cold enough, about two hours to get it really frozenThe material is soft & smooth, also very stretchyIce builds up on the outside of it, kind of like frost on winter gloves but very very very thinly, not enough to make skin wetI like the idea of this ice pack, but the fit is weird. I have an average size head (I think) for a 5’2 120-130 lb person, but if I wanted this to fit snuggly, the Velcro would be on the side of my head.The design is strange. The gel cubes in the sides is great, very smart, feels nice, BUT the Velcro strap at the back means the gel cubes sit right on top of the ears. Sometimes my ears will get very very hot & become red for no reason, so it feels great when that occurs, but that’s not often & this is so cold on my ears that they begin to ache after a few minutes.If I flip the pack around the other way so that the Velcro at the front of the head, the gel cubes aren’t sitting directly on my ears & in general, that’s a better fit for my face. The problem is the large size! If I put it on backward so it’s not right on top my ears, it’s too loose & will slip & slide everywhereWorks really well but wish there was a smaller size or one that didn’t have the gel packs right against the ears

Super comfortable
This head wrap is super comfortable and really helps with swelling after dental procedures. The adjustable strap keeps it in place, and the ice pack molds perfectly to the head. It’s soothing and makes recovery much easier—highly recommend for anyone dealing with wisdom tooth pain or jaw soreness.

It’s very well constructed, and seems to be of good quality. It’s very large, however.Anyone having wisdom teeth extracted needs something like this head wrap with ice-gel packs. I recall trying to decrease the pain from extraction of my wisdom teeth many years ago, and I wish something like this had existed then. I used an ice bag wrapped in a towel. This head wrap is so much better. It was difficult to adjust tightly, even though my head is average adult female size, but it stayed on once I managed to adjust it. And it’s much less annoying than a towel and lumpy ice cubes. And probably works better.I left the wrap in the freezer overnight, and then tried it out. It was uncomfortably cold at first around my chin and cheeks, and actually very painful on my ears. I tried to adjust it so my ears were uncovered, but it then fell off my head every time. So, I used a few dry washcloths as insulators, especially against my ears, but also on my cheeks. I removed the washcloths after about 30 minutes. I then removed the wrap, because it still hurt my ears, and left it out at room temperature. After that, it remained cool to the touch for at least 2 more hours.In retrospect, this wrap was probably too large for my average size female head. I had to tighten it as far as possible to make it fit. It would definitely fit heads much larger than mine, but would probably not fit smaller heads. The ice gel packs in the head wrap are not removable, so if you want backup gel packs to use when the others are no longer cold, you have to buy another head wrap.I wouldn’t buy this head wrap because of the freezing effect on my ears, so I can’t recommend it without reservations. I suspect that effect was due to a sizing issue.
