Perfect smart ceiling light
I installed this Govee Smart Ceiling Light in my 12-year-old daughter’s bedroom, along with four other Govee smart bulbs in her recessed lights, and the result looks great. The light is bright and even, which makes the room feel much bigger and more welcoming.The best part is the color range. She loves switching from warm white for reading to soft pink or blue when she is relaxing or listening to music. It pairs easily with the Govee app and Alexa, so she can change the lighting on her own without needing help. The Govee app also allows her to select scenes, for example a sunset/sunrise or a cool animated rainbow effect.Installation was simple once the mounting plate was up, and it blends nicely with the ceiling. The only downside is that it does not work with wall dimmers, but the app control makes up for it.A bit expensive but highly recommended nonetheless. Govee is getting better and better.

This light was super easy to install and is really cool with the app. The lights doesn’t just change to different colors, it can do color shows provided by Govee or created by the user in the app. I’m really pleased with the size of the light, installed in a room that is 20×20 and provides plenty of light.

Fantastic Upgraded Ceiling Light!
I have several Govee Lighting products in my studio, and the new upgraded Smart Ceiling Light is just what I needed. I had the previous ceiling light, which was okay, but did not have the color options, scenes or features that I love in the other products. The new Pro model is MUCH bigger, brighter and looks amazing in my studio paired with two Smart RGBIC Table Lamp 2, and a Glide RGBIC Wall Light. Setting it up in the app is very straightforward, and I was quickly able to add it to scenes and groups, and configure it to control all lights together with Alexa. I can now have matching colors and patterns for work, relaxation or music-matched for when I’m creating or playing in the studio.

The light is bright and is packed with features and customizable options. Installation is very easy. The colors don’t seem very saturated though when compared to a normal govee bulb.

It does what it says it’s going to do
My only complaint about this light is that you cannot have bright white light with a colored rim. I guess maybe they did that because it is so bright on white light that it would drown out the color. If that’s the case, they should’ve made the color brighter on the rim. As far as the looks go, my first thought was that it’s a bit clunky, even compared to the first generation. That may just be because of the size. Once I got it up, it does not look bad at all. It looks nice. It’s definitely put together well because I had a mishap and the light fell from the ceiling to the floor and there’s only two minor or a little dings on it. It still works perfectly.The anchor screws that come with that are made for ceilings of normal thickness. I live in a trailer and the ceiling is much thinner. So when the anchor opens as you screw it in, there’s a gap between where it opens and the ceiling so it just sort of falls out about a quarter inch. Then it just falls out all the way because my ceiling sucks. This is not the fault of light. It is my ceiling.The options for colors on this light or endless. I did not count the segments, but there must be 30 or so. Even though the light is much brighter than the first generation, I still wish it was brighter with the colors. The bright white light is acceptable, but the colors need to be brighter.I feel like Govee needs to go back to the drawing board on this one and create a new light that is more aesthetically, pleasing and projects color further out on the ceiling and allows you to have bright white light with bright color rim.Other than that, I give it five stars because it does what Govee says it will do in the Amazon advertisement

This thing lights up my room better than any fan light I’ve had before. If you’re looking for power in a compact form, this one delivers.Now, the app… That’s where things get a bit mixed. The preset themes? Honestly, kind of underwhelming, especially if you’ve used other Govee products before. There’s not a lot of variety, and they don’t feel as polished or creative as they should be at this price point.Speaking of price—it’s a bit on the higher end for what you get out of the box. Initially, I was going to rate this 4 stars.But here’s why I bumped it to 5: the customization options. Once I started diving deeper into the app, I discovered how insanely flexible the design tools are. After getting one of these for our rumpus room, we ended up getting a second for our basement: we don’t even really need the RGB and smarts down there tbh, we were just so impressed by how crazy bright this gets and the cute little halo around it that adds subtle character.The govee app really took awhile to warm up to me. I still think it looks and feels kinda janky compared to Hue… but the thing is, govee has always been rock solid in my use and I’ve never ran into any problems with it unlike my Hue ones.As a smart light, I like that it handles disconnects well. When the wall outlet switches off, it retains its setting and will use the same settings when I power it back on. No waiting, no lag, no glitch… which is something the Hue this replaced in the basement really struggled with.The selection of white color tones is excellent. A almost limitless number of options. I was able to match the basement pot lights exactly.And I’ve been very happy with the connectivity. I run an ecclatic mix of Google Home, Smartthings and Home Asssistant and have bee able to get these integrated and working well with automations.Would absolutely recommend these.
One month and the seem is blowing out –
So easy to install there are only two wires on these this is only cause they are low power lights. So no ground wire to install.
