Rock-solid power strip for any workshop or office
This Amazon Basics surge protector is built like a tank. The heavy-duty metal housing feels industrial-grade, and having 16 outlets in one strip is a huge win for organizing tools and chargers in my workshop. The layout gives plenty of room for larger plugs and adapters, and the 6-foot cord is thick and sturdy.Mounting was simple, and it stays securely in place. I’ve been running multiple power tools and chargers from it with zero issues. I needed a large power strip that I could mount stealthily. This solution was exactly what I needed! Provides ample power to my devices, was easy to mount to a flat surface, and the offset plug is a great touch. Can’t think of any complaints. Just a nice, cost-effective multi-plug solution that should last a long time.

Glad we bought this setup
Propped up neatly behind the 32 inch TV in the fitness room. Fits perfect on the shelf making use easy. We are able to keep the gadget plugs tidy and reorganize so things are tucked away.Adding a DVD and the vintage VCR plus a few tech gadgets like Alexa.The strip stays cool and the build quality appears adequate for our needs. Value during the sale is outstanding. Super functional though we can only add a certain plug to the end due to its size and lays flat.Plus the width between fixture spots causes us to skip one that can’t be used to install the Alexa. We didn’t need all the outlet options so for us, this was perfect because what we wanted is the fit behind the television between the book shelves and if we want to affix this to the wall there are screw hole support som each side. Ours works laying along the back of the shelf. But we like the option in case we need it for future use.

Better than others
I had a yellow/black strip I bought off Amazon that I wasn’t super impressed with. When I set up a desk for my kids to do homework at, I wanted a long power strip like this, so everyone isn’t fighting power outlets. I wasn’t impressed with the last one I got, so I tried this. THIS one is great.. so much so, that the kids ended up with the black/yellow one and this went into my home office.

Loose outlets. Dangerous
While the build and looks are good, the outlets are too loose. I can’t see how there isn’t an arcing danger to these outlets…especially over time. In addition, the loose outlets will result in inadvertent unplugging of products.

The build quality is fair, but not good. The most significant problem is that the sockets have very little grab. If you’re planning to install this such that wall-warts are gonna “hang” from it, best take some precautions to keep them mounted properly, because the sockets feel like were plugged-and-unplugged 10,000 times before getting packaged for sale. I was hoping it was just one, but they’re all like that.Amazon needs to be careful with products like this that could damage the rep they’re building with their “Amazon Basics” label. This one isn’t up to snuff.

Nicely boxed, solid power bar. I like the mounting flanges on the ends – making it easy to mount to tool boxes and benches. Ideal size for two areas in my workshop. I would buy these again.
